Streaks Win Wauseon Doubles Invitational

The Archbold boys tennis team narrowly defeated Wauseon to win the Wauseon Doubles Invitational, Saturday, May 10.

Archbold won with a 4.5, Wauseon finished 4.0, and Bryan 3.5.

The team of Peter Lehman and Jayson Lindsay won both of its matches in the fourth round to lead the Streaks. The team of Andre Hurst and Tyson Bentz won their first match and tied their second.

Napoleon defeated Archbold 5-0, Monday, May 5.

Archbold hosts the Division II sectional boys tennis tournament, Thursday, May 15 and Saturday, May 17.

Other schools expected to participate are Ayersville, Bryan, Defiance, Fostoria, Maumee Valley Country Day, Napoleon, Ottawa Hills, Rossford, and Wauseon.

1st Doubles

1. Dulisse and McDonagh (B) def. Ian Redd and Darin Bontrager (A) 2-6, 6-3, 6-2. 2. Uphaus and Wachtmann (W) def. Redd and Bontrager (A) 6-3, 7-5. 3. Uphaus and Wachtmann (W) def. Dulisse and McDonagh (B) 1-6, 6-1, 6-3.

2nd Doubles

1. Jackson Beck and Jacob Lange (A) def. Vietmeier and McClarren (W) 2-6, 6-2, 6-4. 2. Partee and Ross (B) def. Vietmeier and McClarren (W) 6-3, 6-2. 3. Partee and Ross (B) def. Beck and Lange (A) 6-2, 3-6, 6-4.

3rd Doubles

1. Vietmeier and Pholchivin (W) def. Snyder and Humbarger (B) 3-6, 6-1, 6-1. 2. Hurst and Bentz (A) def. Vietmeier and Pholchivin (W) 7-6, 5-7, 6-3. 3. Hurst and Bentz (A) tied Snyder and Humbarger (B).

4th Doubles 1. Lehman and Lindsay (A) def. Maxted and Dominique (W) 7-6, 6-4. 2. Lehman and Lindsay (A) def. Dietrich and Beerbower (B) 6-1, 6-3. 3. Maxted and Dominique (W) def. Dietrich and Beerbower (B) 6-2, 6-2.

Napoleon 5, AHS 0

Singles: 1. Rob Meyers (N) def. Jackson Beck 6-0, 6-1. 2. Alex Altman (N) def. Jacob Lange 6-2, 7-5. 3. Jason Wenner (N) def. Peter Lehman 6-2, 4-6, 7-5.

 

 

Doubles: 1. Ben Hoffman and Andrew Drewes (N) def. Ian Redd and Darin Bontrager 3-6, 6-2, 6-1. 2. Justin Braun and Jordan Braun (N) def. Andre Hurst and Tyson Bentz 6-4, 6-3.
