Streaks Win Three Middle School State Track Championships, Leppelmeier Wins One

Several Archbold Middle School track & field athletes journeyed to Dublin, Ohio, Sunday, May 26 to compete in the Middle School State Track Championships.

The day started with the Division 2 boys.

Logan Garrow set the tone early with Archbold’s first state championship in the 1600-meter run, finishing in 4:45.54.

Garrow finished second in the 800 in 2:11.72.

Jack Fisher tied for third place in the high jump with a jump of 5-7.

In Division 3 action, Macey Rupp placed third in the high jump with a jump of 5-1, while Emily Roth placed seventh in the long jump with a jump of 14-1. 1/4.

Delanie Driver placed fourth in the girls 100 in 13.16 seconds.

The girls 4×100-meter relay team of Emie Peterson, Emily Roth, Julia Lambert and Driver won a state title of its own and set a state record with a time of 52.42, beating the old mark of 54.26.

The same quartet took to the track once more for the 4×200. Once again they stood atop the podium with another state-record time of 1:51.10, beating the old mark of 1:55.80.

Pettisville

Alexa Leppelmeier, a Pettisville eighth grader, won the Division 3 1600-meter run state championship in 5:29.33.

She finished second in the 800.
