Streaks Stay Perfect In NWOAL At 6-0

The Archbold and Evergreen volleyball teams set up a possible showdown for the Northwest Ohio Athletic League title last week after both upped their league records to 6-0.

The Streaks beat Delta 25-15, 25-15, 26-24, Tuesday, Sept. 30. The Vikings beat Bryan 25-18, 25-16, 25-9.

Archbold (13-7) battles Evergreen (13-3) in their final regular season game, Thursday, Oct. 9. To set up Thursday’s battle of the league unbeatens, the Streaks first had to get by Liberty Center and Evergreen had to beat Wauseon last night, Tuesday.

In a non-league tri-match, Saturday, Oct. 4, Archbold defeated Rossford 26-24, 25-21 and Toledo Start 25-23, 25-20.

Emily Snyder had eight kills, while Stacy Wyse and Alyssa Schaub each had seven. Devin Newman and Hailey Galvan each had six; Melinda Sauder had five.

Andrea Allan and Newman each served two aces; Wyse and Lauren Kern each served one. Newman was 18/19 in serving; Kern, 15/15; Allan, 14/14/; Deena Cowell, 11/11; and Wyse, 9/11.

The team had 75 digs and three saves.

Wyse was 56/57 in setting; Galvan was 18/18; and Kern was 17/17.

The Streaks were 71/75 in serving, 47/51 in serve reception, 105/106 in setting, and 107/120 in attacks.

AHS Def. Rossford 26-24, 25-21

Wyse served Archbold’s only ace and was 13/13 in serving. She was 42/42 in setting, had two kills and was 12/13 in attacks, and had a solo block.

Kern was 24/25 in setting. Snyder and Sauder each had seven kills; Schaub had four; Newman and Galvan each had two.

Snyder also had a solo block. As a team AHS was 46/49 in serving, 30/39 in serve recep- tion, 82/84 in setting, and 75/87 in attacks.

Wyse served three aces, was 17/17 in serving, and was 54/54 in setting. Cowell and Kern each served two aces.

Snyder, Newman, and Schaub each had five kills. Sauder had three; Galvan and Wyse each had two.

The Streaks were 50/51 in serving, 33/39 in serve reception, 79/79 in setting, and 66/81 in attacks.
