Streaks Raise NWOAL Record To 4-0 With Win Over Montpelier




Archbold jumped out to a 16- 6 first-quarter advantage on its way to a 53-20 Northwest Ohio Athletic League girls basketball victory over Montpelier, Friday, Jan. 16, in The Thunderdome.

The Streaks raised their record to 10-3, 4-0 NWOAL. The Locos dropped to 7-5, 1-2 NWOAL.

“We did a nice job setting the tone with our defense and rebounding,” said Brian Ziegler, AHS coach. “It was a good team win with balanced scoring. The big first half was the difference.”

The Streaks extended their lead to 32-12 at the half and outscored the Locos 21-8 in the second half for the victory.

Stacy Wyse led Archbold with 10 points and nine rebounds. She was the only player in double figures.

The Streaks out-rebounded MHS 36-26 and committed 10 fewer turnovers, 12 to Montpelier’s 22.
