Archbold wrestled at the Lima Central Catholic Thunderbird Invitational Friday and Saturday, Jan. 29-30, bringing home an individual championship plus four place finishers.
The Streaks placed fifth in the 45-team tournament that hosts Division III teams.
Mechanicsburg was the champion, with 276.5 points.
Miami East was second with 153.5, followed by Covington 151.5, Coldwater 148.5, and Archbold 130.
Garrett Grime (152 pounds) was the lone Blue Streak champion.
Seeded third, Grime defeated Dylan Curtain of Tri County North in the first round by fall in 58 seconds.
He next defeated Ryan Sammet of McComb with a 56-second fall.
An 11-3 major decision over Michael Burket of Eastwood placed Grime in the semifinals, where he defeated second-seeded Brandon Soules of Allen East 3-1.
In the championship final, Grime defeated the number one seed, Corey Bogan of Mechanicsburg, 7-4.
David Bell (170 lbs.) placed second, losing to Jacob Thompson of Triad in the finals.
Noah Mattin (126 lbs.) dropped his second-round match on Friday. He then fought through the consolation bracket, winning six straight matches, including his final match against Coldwater’s Jay Uhlenhake by a 10-1 major decision to place third.
Mitchell Hogrefe (160 lbs.) won his first two matches on Friday evening.
His reward was to face the defending two-time state champion, Caleb Romero of Mechanicsburg, in the quarterfinals, where he was pinned and dropped into the consolations.
In the match for third place, Hogrefe dropped an 11-9 sudden victory against Hunter Sutton of Eastwood to finish fourth.
Sophomore Gavin Grime (120 lbs.) was Archbold’s final place finisher.
He reached the championship semifinals before dropping the next two matches, placing him in the match for fifth, where he defeated Jevyn Pratt of Carey 8-2.
