The Archbold girls basketball team jumped out to a 28-14 halftime lead on its way to a 53-38 non-league victory over Bowling Green, Monday, Dec. 21, in The Thunderdome.

“This was a nice team win,” said Brian Ziegler, AHS head coach.

“We had four score nine points, which gave us good balance. We did a nice job in the second and third quarters both offensively and defensively.

“We had some good fast breaks where we ran the floor well and saw the floor very, very well.

“We played seven games in 15 days, so it’s nice getting the win before the Christmas break and getting a little rest to go into the new year.”

The four players each scoring nine were Andrea Allan, Abbey Graber, Hailey Galvan, and Alyssa Schaub. BG’s Bethany Hoehner was the only player in double figures, with 12.

The Streaks won the rebounding battle, 37-31, led by Stacy Wyse with six. The Bobcats committed 26 turnovers while AHS had 15.

Archbold was 12-23 from the foul line for 52%. BG was 9-17 for 53%.
