The Archbold boys tennis season ended at the Division II sectional tournament, Thursday, May 15 at Archbold. The Streaks failed to advance anyone to the district tourney.
In the first round of singles action, Jackson Beck (A) defeated Sheperd (Bryan) 6-4, 5-7, 6- 2. Sweeney (Napoleon) defeated Peter Lehman (A) 6-4, 7-5 and Maxted (Wauseon) defeated Jacob Lange 6-1, 6-2 (A).
Beck advanced to the quarterfinals with a 4-6, 6-2, 6-2 defeat of Vietmeier (Wauseon) in the second round.
Beck was defeated by Bechtel (Ottawa Hills) in the quarterfinal 6-1, 6-1.
In second-round doubles action, Uphaus and Wachtmann (Wauseon) defeated Ian Redd and Darin Bontrager (A) 6-4, 6- 4. Delman and Smiley (Maumee Valley Country Day) defeated Tyson Bentz and Andre Hurst (A) 6-3, 6-1.
The top four singles and four doubles teams advance to the district at Sandusky/Port Clinton.
