The Archbold junior varsity baseball team dropped two of three games last week to fall to 9-12.

The Blue Streaks started the week in grand style by pounding Patrick Henry 16-7, Monday, May 5. Ben Miller’s threerun homer in the first inning was his first of two hits and gave him four runs batted in to provide the spark at the plate.

Miller was the winning pitcher, going five innings with six strikeouts and two walks. Corey Wyse shut out the Patriots in the final two innings in relief.

Drew Smith had a big day with two hits, a triple, and drove home four runs. Bobby Rodriguez went 3/3, and Zac Grosjean added two hits with a double and two RBIs.

Corey Wyse and Jared Leininger each cracked three hits while Grosjean had two. Smith, Miller, and Drew Ginn each added RBI singles. Appel added a hit as the Streaks tried to rally in the late innings.
