Spiess Named FCCC Sup’t.

William J. Spiess, a nearly 34-year employee of the Four County Career Center, will become its next superintendent on Aug. 1.

The Four County Career Center Board of Education made the appointment during a meeting, Thursday, May 22.

He replaces David Nicholls, who officially retires as NSCC superintendent July 31. Nicholls served as superintendent for six years.

Spiess began his work with FCCC in 1974, teaching landscape and greenhouse technology until 1998. In 1999, he became career and technical supervisor; in 2002, he took the position of director of operations.

In 2006, he moved into his current position, director of career and technical education.

He graduated from Ohio State University in 1974 with a Bachelor of Science degree in agricultural education. He earned a master’s degree in vocational-technical education from the University of Toledo in 1993.

He lives in Liberty Center with his wife, Debbra, They have two adult daughters and four grandchildren.
