Shirley Mae Beltz, age 67, of Archbold, passed away Wednesday evening, June 2, 2010 in her home, following a long illness.
Prior to her retirement in 2005 she had worked in quality control at Frozen Specialties in Archbold for over 30 years.
Shirley was born in Pekin, Ill., on Oct. 29, 1942, the daughter of the late Edward Ray and the late Ruth Anna (Haynes) Layne.
On Sept. 12, 1969 she married Robert G. “Bob” Beltz, and he survives.
Shirley enjoyed cooking, gardening, fishing, and mushroom hunting.
Surviving besides her husband, Bob, are two sons, James (Asiah) Beltz of Limestone, Tenn., and Jeff (Tanya) Beltz of Alvordton; one sister, Sue (John) Breier of Archbold; five grandchildren, Amanda DeGeneris, Nick Beltz, Ashley Beltz, Eric Beltz, and Wyatt Beltz; and one great-grandchild, Traber DeGeneris.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Bobby Lane.
Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, June 5, 2010, at the Grisier Funeral Home in Archbold, with the Rev. Dale Kern, officiating. Interment followed in the Evansport Cemetery.
The family requests that memorial contributions be given to St. John’s Lutheran Church.
