Shirley Ann Wyse passed away at the age of 83 in Santa Clarita, Calif., on Monday, Jan. 21, 2019, from complications with Alzheimer’s disease.

Her daughter, Teresa, son-in-law, Dean, and granddaughter, Chelsea, were present at her passing.

Shirley was born on Jan. 17, 1936, in Archbold (the Buckeye State) to Henry and Lillie Yedica.

Shirley is survived by her sisters, Anne Beck and Dorothy Huner, along with extended family members Costell, Boynton, Alexander, Yedica, Beck, and Zuver.

Family members who are resting in peace are sisters Martha (Yedica) Costell, Luella (Yedica) Alexander, Pauline (Yedica) Zuver, and brothers Henry Yedica, Jr., and Kenneth Yedica.

Shirley is survived by her daughter, Teresa (Wyse) Cox and son-in-law Dean Cox of Santa Clarita, Calif.; and daughter Shelley (Wyse) Zearley and son-in-law Jeff Zearley of Anaheim, Calif. She is also survived by her four grandchildren and their spouses/partners: Justin Cox and Elaine (Radovolsky) Cox of Pleasanton, Calif.; Chelsea (Cox) Gillman and Max Gillman of Santa Clarita, Calif.; Jessica Niblett and Josh Cameron of Costa Mesa, Calif.; and Jeremy Niblett of Laguna Niguel, Calif.

Shirley was married to Robert H. Wyse, who passed in June of 2017 from Parkinson’s disease.

In 1952, they married and moved to San Diego, Calif., as Robert finished his tour of duty with the Navy. They continued their lives with family, work and commitment to their faith as they lived in Hemet, Calif.; Victorville, Calif.; Kansas City, Mo.; Visalia, Calif.; Santa Maria, Calif.; and Santa Clarita, Calif.

Before moving to Santa Clarita, Calif., to be close to her eldest daughter and husband, Shirley and Bob were active members and committed to their faith in God at Faith Baptist Church in Visalia, Calif.

Shirley and Bob loved music and sang in the church choir.

Shirley was a devoted wife and mother who loved and cared for her husband, daughters, sons-in-law, grandchildren, extended family and friends.

She had the gift of hospitality and enjoyed hosting family and friends with a good meal, good conversation, and a game or two.

Shirley was a wonderful support to her husband, Bob.

They enjoyed traveling to their home state of Ohio to visit family and friends, trips to Hawaii, and various cruises, with one of their favorite California excursions being trips to Pismo Beach on the central coast.

Her family will forever love her and greatly miss her.

A Celebration of Life memorial service will be held at Faith Baptist Church in Visalia, Calif., on Sunday, March 24, 2019, at 10:45 a.m. (3833 W Walnut Ave, Visalia, CA 93277). The family will attend the Faith Baptist church service in her honor and provide a Celebration of Life service following the church service at 12:00 p.m.

She and her husband, Bob will be honored with a military burial service at Miramar in San Diego (date and time to be determined).
