Sheriff Deputy Strikes Raccoon



A Fulton County Sheriff Department deputy driving a marked FCSD patrol car struck a raccoon about 3:36 am, Wednesday, April 13.

Justin D. Galbraith, 31, the deputy, was driving the patrol car west on Co. Rd. G when the vehicle struck the animal about four-tenths of a mile west of Co. Rd. 24. The report indicates the patrol car suffered minor damage. Galbraith was not injured.

Other accidents:

•Friday, April 1, 12:38 am: An Ohio State Highway Patrol report states a sportutility vehicle, driven by Donald Lester Heising, 49, rural Stryker, was traveling east on Co. Rd. B, when he went out of control at the Co. Rd. 25 intersection, went off the south side of the road, and struck a ditch. Heising was cited for operating without reasonable control. No injury.

•Friday, April 1, 8:57 am: An FCSD report states a sport-utility vehicle, driven by Michelle L. Smith, 47, Fayette, was traveling north on St. Rt. 66 when she collided with a deer about two-tenths of a mile north of Co. Rd. J. Smith was not injured.
