Sheriff Dept. Reports Auto Mishaps

A two-car collision resulted in a citation for disobeying a stop sign for Eduardo Cruz Garcia, 50, Archbold.

Garcia was the driver of a car, traveling east on Co. Rd. F about 5:29 pm Friday, March 28. At the same time, a second car, driven by Preston W. Lantz, 15, rural Archbold, with passenger Theresa L. Lantz, 43, same address, was traveling north on Co. Rd. 20.

The Fulton County Sheriff Department report states Garcia failed to yield the right of way, and the two autos collided. No injuries.

Aaron J. Filson, 23, rural Archbold, was a passenger in a truck that backed into a tree in the 3000 block of Co. Rd. 5 in Swancreek Township about 5:26 pm Saturday, March 29.

Todd James Brooks, 30, rural Delta, was driving the truck. A second passenger was Jason A. Burton, 22, Napoleon. Brooks was backing the truck in the lawn at a residence when the mishaps occurred.

Randall Rooks, 45, Riverdale, Ga., received a citation for failure to control after the semi truck he was driving became stuck on St. Rt. 2, about four-tenths of a mile east of Co. Rd. 22 about 9:48 am Tuesday, March 1.

Rooks was attempting to turn around in a private drive. He drove off the roadway, and became stuck in a yard owned by James Marshall, 21596 St. Rt. 2, Archbold. The vehicle was also blocking the highway.

The truck is owned by Western Express, Nashville, Tenn.

Cynthia J. Ruffer, 54, Archbold, was traveling south on St. Rt. 66, about four-tenths of a mile south of Co. Rd. F about 8:58 pm Wednesday, March 26, when her car collided with a deer.
