Timothy A. Rettig, 46, rural Archbold, was sentenced to three days at the Corrections Center of Northwest Ohio and three years of community control after pleading guilty to charges related to child pornography.
Rettig entered guilty pleas to three counts of pandering sexually oriented matter involving a minor on May 16 in Fulton County Common Pleas Court. Five other charges against him were dropped as part of a negotiated plea agreement.
Scott Haselman, Fulton County prosecuting attorney, said in a press release Rettig possessed material on his computer showing minors “participating or engaging in sexual activity.”
Rettig was indicted on four counts of pandering sexually oriented matter involving a minor, and four counts of pandering obscenity involving a minor by the county grand jury on Feb. 27.
Fulton County Sheriff deputies arrested Rettig on March 1. He was released on $2,500 bond March 5.
James Barber, Fulton County Common Pleas Court judge, sentenced Rettig on Monday, July 2. He ordered Rettig to serve seven days in CCNO, but granted him credit for the four days he had served.
In addition to his community control, Rettig was ordered to have no unsupervised contact with minors, not to possess or view pornographic materials, complete sex offender treatment in Napoleon, and forfeit his computers or related equipment for destruction.
Rettig is required to register as a sexually oriented offender for 20 years. During that time, he must verify the address of his residence with the county sheriff every 180 days.
