An Oregon, Ohio man was sentenced in Fulton County Common Pleas Court Thursday, April 20:
•James Skiles, 33; originally indicted Dec. 12, 2015, on two counts, theft, one count, engaging in a pattern of corrupt activity; entered guilty plea in February to one misdemeanor count of theft and one count felony theft; on or about May 31-June 2, 2015, stole cell phones valued at more than $1,000 but less than $7,500; sentenced to terms of six months and 11 months, to be served concurrently, in the Corrections Commission of Northwest Ohio Regional Jail Diversion program; ordered to pay court-appointed counsel fees and prosecution costs.
A Swanton woman was sentenced on theft charges in Fulton County Common Pleas Court on Wednesday, April 26:
•Rita Thie, 61; originally indicted June 20, 2016, on one count each, passing back checks, theft, grand theft; entered guilty plea in January to theft, grand theft; on March 4, 2014 to Nov. 30, 2015, she stole cash from the Swanton American Legion; on Nov. 25, 2015, she stole cash from Advance America; sentenced to one day at the Corrections Center of Northwest Ohio, placed on community control for four years; ordered to complete theft education course, pay restitution totaling $11,339.29. Failure to comply could result in 12-month prison sentence for grand theft and six months for theft, to be served concurrently for total prison term of 12 months.
A Wauseon man was sentenced on a drug charge in Fulton County Common Pleas Court Thursday, April 27:
•Jacob J. Maberson, 21; originally indicted Dec. 19, 2016, on one count each, possession of cocaine, attempted tampering with evidence; entered guilty plea to possession of cocaine and was sentenced April 26; on or about Sept. 3, 2016, Maberson possessed cocaine; sentenced to four years community control; ordered to complete drug court program. Maberson served six days in jail prior to sentencing. Failure to comply could result in 12-month prison sentence.
