A semi truck struck a pole on private property at 100 South Defiance Street about 11:51 am, Tuesday, Jan. 30.
The semi was stopped in traffic in the northbound lane of South Defiance Street. That day, a Norfolk Southern freight train was stopped over the Defiance Street railroad crossing.
The driver, Gail C. Foulk, 64, Quincy, turned onto the property owned by Elaine K. Leininger, Archbold, in an attempt to turn around. In doing so, he struck a pole. Foulk was cited for failure to control.
The truck is owned by Venture Express, Inc., LaVergne, Tenn. No injury.
