Archbold Boy Scout Troop 63 and Cub Scout Pack 263 collected 2,090 food items in the community for the Archbold FISH Food Pantry.
The food was collected during the Scouts’ annual food drive, known as Scouting for Food.
Scouts distributed empty bags throughout the village, Saturday, March 6, asking local residents to fill the bags with non-perishable items, and place them on the front doorknobs or porches Saturday, March 13. The Scouts collected the items that afternoon.
The items were delivered to the pantry, where they were sorted.
The 2010 count is down 1,630 items, or about 43.8%, from the 2009 collection of 3,720 food items.
