The Archbold Area School Board met, again, behind closed doors four about an hour and 15 minutes during its Monday, Oct. 22 meeting.
The executive session was called to discuss personnel issues. No action resulted from the secret session when the board returned to regular session.
The session was not on the agenda originally published for the night’s meeting. Jon Lugbill, board president, called for the closed-door meeting.
Board members voted on several personnel actions in regular session.
The salaries of six teachers were adjusted, rewarding them for completing additional education courses.
Jennifer Johnson and Kristin Shields were both raised to the master’s degree plus 30 hours of coursework level on the salary schedule.
Jason Bacik, Jodi Biederstedt, Dustie Brubaker, and Tara Yunker were each moved to the master’s degree plus 15 hours point on the salary scale.
The board also approved tuition reimbursements for teachers who took classes during the 2011-12 school year to continue their education.
The reimbursements are part of the contract negotiated with the Archbold Education Association, which represents the teachers in labor negotiations with the school board.
Luke Stuckey was approved as a volunteer wrestling coach at the high school level for the current school year.
The board voted to approve Dave Eciher as a volunteer wrestling coach at the junior high and high school level for the year.
Supplemental contracts were approved for Sandra Babcock, Ann Dominique, and JoAnn Cousino. They will operate the concessions during the winter sports season.
Two volunteer coaching positions were rescinded: Amanda Kern’s volunteer softball coach position and Tom Vershum’s assistant baseball coach position.
As part of the board’s consensus agenda, prices for the winter sports passes and boys basketball reserved seats were approved.
