The Archbold School Board approved contracts for five members of the administrative team at its Monday, April 17 meeting.
Salaries for the five were not set at the meeting.
Aaron Rex, superintendent, said salaries for administrators were set at the May 2016 school board meeting.
In general, administrators got the same raises teachers received as part of the labor contract negotiated with the Archbold Education Association. The AEA represents the teachers in negotiations.
The contract negotiated with the AEA called for a 2% hike in base pay in 2016-17, the current school year, plus another 2% in school year 2017-18 and a 1.5% hike in 2018-19.
A contract was approved for Royal Short, high school principal. For the 2017- 18 school year, with the 2% raise, Short will earn $87,027.
The contract approved by the board takes effect Aug. 1, 2018, and extends through July 31, 2021.
Matt Shields, middle school principal, will earn $78,537 in 2017-18. The contract approved for Shields starts Aug. 1, 2018 and runs through July 31, 2021.
Michele Bagrowski, district curriculum director, will be paid $68,942 in 2017-18.
Bagrowski’s situation is different. At the May 2016 meeting, she was granted 3% raises for each of the three years.
The contract approved for Bagrowski is also effective Aug. 1, 2018, and ends July 31, 2021.
A contract for Allan Gladieux, high school athletic director, was added as an addendum to the April 17 agenda. He will receive $66,579 during the next school year.
The board approved a 2% raise, effective Aug. 1, 2017, and a 1.75% raise effective Aug. 1, 2018.
Gladieux’s contract is effective Aug. 1, 2017, to July 31, 2020.
Esther Rupp, school psychologist, was granted a three-year contract, effective Aug. 1, 2017, to July 31, 2020. Rex said Rupp will be paid $54,638.
A two-year contract for Zach Gericke was approved. Gericke is a certified employee who holds a master’s degree.
Other contracts included one for Taylor Gerken as a casual laborer for the summer of 2017, and a one-year contract for Courtney Froehlich as elementary spring musical director for the 2016- 17 school year.
Summer contracts were approved for student custodial workers: Trevor Short, Bailey Short, Angel Huerta, LJ Tijerina, Kierstyn Repp, and Leslie Simon.
Continuing and one- and two-year contracts were granted for the following certified and non-certified employees:
•Certified two-year contracts: Jamie Anderson, bachelor’s degree (BA); Krystina Bowerman, BA plus 150 hours; Jeff Brunswick, BA-150; Cynthia Clark, BA; John Culler, master’s degree (MA); Breanna Daugherty, BA; Shelby Graber, MA+15; Mindy Gruenhagen, MA; Amy Johns, BA; Crista Mc- Cabe, MA; Jody Schwyn, BA; Ryan Sell, MA; Miranda Sumpter BA; Alissa Stockburger, MA; Ryan Throne, MA; Elizabeth Voll, MA; Megan Wiemken, MA; Miranda Wills, BA.
• Certified one-year contracts: Jennifer Cobb, BA- 150; Lauren Frey, BA; Stacy Guelde, MA.
• Classified two-year contracts: Jason Baun, building supervisor; Maghan Burkle, playground aide; Diana Fridley, Ryan Hicks, elementary custodians; Tiffanie Kruse, aide; Sarah Nafziger, substitute teacher caller; Tricia Rodriguez, aide.
•Classified continuing contracts: Jill Nafziger, elementary computer aide; Larry Rupp, district maintenance.
•Extended contracts were approved for several positions. Ten-day extensions were granted for high school guidance (two positions); middle school guidance; elementary school guidance; vocal music, and band. A 15- day extension was granted for Vo-Ag/FFA.
