An Archbold person was the victim of a computer security scam, Archbold police reported.
Martin Schmidt, police chief, said scammers used their computer and the Internet to take over a computer owned by Violet Y. Grime, 76, Archbold, on Thursday, Sept. 18.
The scam artists then called Grime at her resi- dence, telling her she needed their services to secure her machine.
The scammers told Grime to purchase prepaid “money cards,” then give them the code numbers over the phone.
The police report on the incident states one card was for $404.94. A second was for $449.99.
Police indicated in the report there are no known suspects. The case is closed.
