Scam Report Taken

Archbold police did some investigation into a scam, then that matter was referred to another jurisdiction.

A police report states that on Monday, Nov. 20, at 4:25 pm, a man arrived at the police station to report he could not locate his wife.

Further, the man had been told by a bank employee his wife had withdrawn large amounts of cash from their bank. Archbold police placed the loss at $4,000.

The officer was able to locate and contact the woman, “and it was determined she was the victim of a scam,” the report said.

“It was also determined that the reportee did not reside in Archbold. The reportee was advised to contact his local police agency to file a theft report, and was informed that a report would be made by Archbold PD and forwarded to said local agency,” the report said.
