A safe that might be connected with a July 2012 break-in at Laub Auto Parts has been found.
An Archbold police report states representatives from the store found the safe at the rear of the store property about 1 pm, Tuesday, Feb. 19.
Police are holding it as possible evidence, the report states.
The safe was empty, and officers reported observing pry marks on and around the door.
It may have been outside “for some time” the report states.
A safe was stolen from the auto parts store sometime between 2:30 pm, Saturday, July 21, 2012, and 12:20 pm the following day.
The store was broken into a second time over the weekend of Oct. 20-21, 2012.
On that occasion, the total value of stolen items, plus damage to a window the thieves broke to gain access, was $1,320.
