Ruth M. Storrer, age 91, of Archbold, passed away Wednesday afternoon, Jan. 13, 2010, at Fairlawn Haven Nursing Home in Archbold.
Prior to her retirement she had been a beautician for 60 years, having owned and operated Kay’s Beauty Shop in Archbold from 1948-1997.
Mrs. Storrer was born in Ottoville on Jan. 3, 1919, the daughter of the late William and the late Christena (Martin) Schneeg. On Nov. 23, 1944, she married Edward Storrer, and he preceded her in death in 1996.
She was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church in Archbold.
Surviving are five daughters, Nancy Storrer of Archbold, Diane Kruse of Omaha, Neb., Sue (Lee Roy) Speelman of Bryan, Linda (Bill) Martin of Archbold, Mary (David) Augustine of Archbold; two sons, Dave (Lou Ann) Storrer of Archbold, Dan (Cheryl) Storrer of Archbold; 26 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; and one brother, Walter Schneeg of Florida.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward; one son, Thomas Storrer; one sister, Dorothy Siebeneck; one brother, Oscar Schneeg; one great-grandson, Drew Galvan; and one son-in-law, Richard Kruse.
A funeral mass will be celebrated at 1 p.m., Monday, Jan. 18, 2010, at St. Peter Catholic Church in Archbold, with the Rev. Father Gary Ferguson officiating. Interment will follow in the St. Peter Cemetery in Archbold.
Friends may call in the Fellowship Hall of St. Peter Catholic Church in Archbold on Monday from 11 a.m. until the time of service.
The family requests that memorial contributions be given to St. Peter Catholic Church, Hospice of Williams and Fulton Counties, or Fairlawn Haven Nursing Home.
