David Rupp, a senior defensive back on the Archbold High School football team, received All-Ohio honors last week.
Rupp, also the AHS quarterback, was named First Team- Defense in Division V.
Jacob Fidler and Jared Leininger, AHS seniors, received special mention.
Patrick Henry had several players on the All-Ohio team. Cody Pettit was First Team-Defense and a co-defensive player of the year; the Patriots’ coach, Bill Inselmann, was one of four coaches of the year.
Justin Buenger was named First Team-Offense. Mitch Leonard was named Second Team-Offense. Mike Gobrogge received special mention.
Other players from the area receiving D-V All-Ohio awards: Ben Wonderly, Fairview, First Team-Offense; James Elchinger, Fairview, Second Team- Offense; John Hammersmith and Lucas Willitzer, Tinora, special mention.
Liberty-Benton, who defeated Archbold in the playoffs, had eight players honored on the first or second teams, including the offensive player of the year, quarterback Aaron Craft.
