Roof Suffers Wind Damage

Daylight streams through the openings in the roof at the Sauder Woodworking Meyer Road plant, after the building was damaged by high winds, Wednesday night, June 23. Kevin Sauder, company president and chief executive officer, said about 10:35 pm, high winds peeled back about 20,000 square feet of the metal roof on the west side of the building “like a sardine can.” All employees were in storm shelters at the time. No one was injured. Damage to machinery and work-in-progress inventory was relatively low, he said. Temporary repairs were made, and repair parts were ordered last week.– courtesy photo
