Rollin J. Short

Rollin J. Short, 80 years, of Archbold, died of a massive heart attack on Friday morning, July 25, 2008, at St. Vincent’s Mercy Medical Center, Toledo, where he was admitted July 24.

He was born near Archbold on Jan. 3, 1928 to Raymond H. and Elizabeth (Short) Short. On Nov. 22, 1951 he married Lois Wagler, and she survives.

He was a graduate of Archbold High School and was an Archbold area grain farmer, raising livestock and turkeys until his retirement. He was a member of Zion Mennonite Church in Archbold.

Surviving in addition to his wife are six children, Rhonda (Wyman) Stuckey of Pioneer, Andrew R. (Patricia) Short of Archbold, Steven J. (Kay) Short of Brighton, Mich., Jan Short Litogot of Archbold, Sue A. (Timothy) O’Riley of Highland, Ind., and Lisa J. (Dean) Smith of Archbold; 16 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a sister, Patricia (Charles) Wyse of Archbold.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

There will be no visitation. Private graveside services will be held at Lockport Cemetery. There will be a memorial service at a later date.

Short Funeral Home in Archbold is in charge of the arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mennonite Central Committee, Cherry Street Mission, Gideons International, or the donor’s choice.
