Jerry Rohrs and Karlin Wyse, Archbold Lions Club members, were recently honored for 45 years of service.

Rohrs and Wyse, both past Archbold Citizens of the Year, have assisted with and taken the lead on many projects.

When asked about the club highlights over the years, they recalled the mission statement, “We Serve,” and a main Lions activity across the world, Vision.

The Archbold club has provided over 200 eye exams and glasses for needy children in the community and sent bushels of used glasses to needy people overseas.

Over their years of membership, the club has built sidewalks and fences and constructed six shelterhouses in the parks.

The club has awarded college scholarships, sponsored the Boy Scouts since 1958, and worked the Fulton County Fair gates for years.

The most visible activity was the Carp Festival, which ran for more than 30 years. _________________________
