Roger L. Roth, age 77 years, of Archbold, passed away Sunday evening, Sept. 13, 2015, at CHP Defiance Area In-Patient Hospice.
He was born Nov. 8, 1937, near Archbold, the son of Truman and Luetta (Gautsche) Roth, and married Karen Roth on June 15, 1963.
A 1955 graduate of Pettisville High School, he worked at Sauder Manufacturing in Archbold for 48 years before retiring in 2003, and since drove cars for Car 1.
He enjoyed attending any athletic event his grandchildren were involved in and was their #1 fan, and playing Euchre with his friends.
He was a member of the Lockport Mennonite Church, rural Stryker, and a former member of the Archbold Lions Club.
He is survived by his wife, Karen; four children, Kent Roth, Kim M. (Greg) Walker, Brian (Lynne) Roth, and Brad (Aimee) Roth, all of Archbold; seven grandchildren, Michael Walker, Cayla Walker, Toby Walker, Kreighton Sims, Cahle Roth, Evynn Roth, and Avery Roth; one brother, James (Barbara) Roth of Georgia; two sisters, Mabel Ann (Verlan) Klinger of Archbold, and Marlene (Gene) Graf of Fayette.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Memorial services will be held on Thursday at 11 a.m. at the Lockport Mennonite Church with pastors Steven Heatwole and Erich Christman officiating. Interment will precede at 10 a.m. in the Lockport Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Lockport Church from 2-8 p.m., today, Wednesday.
Short Funeral Home in Archbold has been entrusted with the arrangements.
