Ickey’s, a bar and restaurant that has been a local institution for decades, is seeking approval of voters in Archbold Precinct Three to approve the sale of mixed drinks on Sundays in the Tuesday, March 6 primary election.
James “Bummer” Dominique, proprietor, is seeking an Ohio Department of Liquor Control D6 permit, which, if approved by voters, will allow the sale of liquor on Sundays between 11 am and midnight.
The request is known as a local option. Because Ickey’s is located in Precinct Three, only voters who live in the precinct will vote on the question.
The general boundaries of Precinct Three are south from the middle of West Holland Street and west of North Defiance Street, plus the south side of Miller Avenue to the village limits and east of South Defiance Street.
If voters approve the local option, it will take about 30 days to process the permit.
Also, the Wal Mart store in Wauseon is asking voters in Wauseon Precinct Five to approve the sale of wine and mixed beverages on Sundays between 10 am and midnight.
