An Archbold police officer pulled over a motorist, but rather than writing the driver a ticket, called for an ambulance.
The report written by the officer states at 3:55 pm, Saturday, June 24, he was notified of a black minivan approaching the village from the east. The van reportedly crossed the center line several times.
The officer located the vehicle on South Defiance Street and Union Street, and reported he followed the vehicle as it made its way north through the village.
“The minivan went left of center twice within a short amount of time,” the officer wrote.
“I stopped the vehicle. I called rescue after speaking with the driver and ascertaining the driver was ill.
“The driver did not drive after that point.”
The fire department EMS log indicates the driver refused treatment.
