Following about six weeks of persistent police work, a trailer stolen from the village of Archbold has been recovered.
In a press release, Archbold police said as a result of the investigation, the trailer was found in south Toledo on Tuesday, Jan. 16.
The trailer, which was new at the time, was parked at the Archbold Water Treatment plant. It was stolen sometime between 11:24 am, Saturday, Nov. 25, and 7:45 am, Monday, Nov. 27, 2017.
Police said Sauder Woodworking Security, the Ohio State Highway Patrol, and Terry Henricks Chrysler- Dodge-Jeep-Ram assisted in the investigation.
Tera Rogers, an officer, said representatives from the auto dealership assisted officers with identifying the type of vehicle caught on video surveillance.
With the information, officers were able to develop a list of locations for officers to search. The search turned up the missing trailer.
Police have a suspect in the case who has yet to be charged.
The press release states information about the case will be presented to the Fulton County Grand Jury.
Rogers said Dave Schweinhagen, an APD officer, conducted the investigation.
