Several auto crashes of local interest were recently reported to the Fulton County Sheriff Department and the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
•Thursday, Aug. 13, 11:49 am: An FCSD report states a pickup, driven by Nathan W. Meyer, 36, rural Archbold, was traveling south on Co. Rd. 24, and turned right, to go east on Co. Rd. B. When he turned, the load, a large piece of pipe, fell off and was struck by a car driven by Jane L. King, 63, rural Archbold. Meyer was cited for an insecure load. No injuries.
•Wednesday, Aug. 19, 2:21 pm: An FCSD report states a car, driven by Kyle J. Castillo, 24, Bryan, was traveling east on St. Rt. 2 when the windshield was struck by an object about a tenth of a mile east of Co. Rd. 26-2. No injury.
•Friday, Aug. 21, 5:27 pm: An FCSD report states an SUV driven by Gloria G. Esquibel, 61, Stryker, was traveling east on St. Rt. 2 and hit a deer about a tenth of a mile east of Co. Rd. 26. Esquibel was not injured.
•Sunday, Aug. 23, 5:21 pm: An FCSD report states a car, driven by Ethan Joshua Wonderly, 23, Zanesville, was traveling north on St. Rt. 66 and failed to negotiate the right-hand curve south of Zone. He crossed the centerline, went off the left side of the road, and struck a directional arrow sign. Wonderly was cited for failure to control. No injury.
•Wednesday, Aug. 26, 7:34 am: An OSHP report states a car, driven by Theresa C. Gibson, 36, Montpelier, was traveling south on St. Rt. 66 and was stopped in traffic about two-tenths of a mile north of the St. Rt. 2-Co. Rd. E intersection. An SUV, driven by Terry L. Fruth, 67, rural Wauseon, was traveling south behind Gibson. They collided. Fruth was cited for failure to maintain an assured clear distance ahead. Gibson received nonincapacitating injuries, but was not transported by ambulance.
