Rayne Kinsman, 11, Archbold, was recognized by Fulton County Healthy Choices, Caring Communities with the Junior Coalition Champion of the Year award in a ceremony, Tuesday, June 13.
Healthy Choices, Caring Communities, or HC3, is a coalition of youth, parents, law enforcement, and other groups working to reduce underage substance abuse.
Kinsman was honored for her leadership in promoting the Stomping Ground event at the Fulton County Fair. The event provided a safe environment for middle-school age students to “hang out” and participate in positive activities, rather than negative activities like drinking alcohol or smoking.
In a press release, HC3 officials recognized that her “initiative and networking helped to expand our reach and greatly contributed to the overall success of the event.”
This was the first year for the junior coalition champion award.
Kinsman will be a sixth grade student at Archbold Middle School.
