Ralph Dean Nafziger, age 67, died suddenly on July 15, 2013, in Nashville, Tenn.
He was born July 16, 1945, the son of Earl and Blanche Nafziger, Wauseon.
Ralph was a high school mathematics teacher in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., until his recent retirement. He planned to move soon to Nashville, Tenn.
He was educated at Pettisville School, Goshen College, Texas A&I, and Nova University.
Ralph was baptized when he was young at Central Mennonite Church, Archbold. He was a kind and generous man, and he had many friends.
He is survived by his sisters, Janice Nafziger, Wauseon; Rachel Lindsay, Williamsport, Md.; Rhoda Schrag, Goshen, Ind.; and his brothers, Charles (Esther), LaJunta, Colo.; Ellis (Pat), Wauseon; Emerson (Cynthia), Champaign, Ill.; Verlin (Donna), Whitmore Lake, Mich.; Robert (Debo- rah), Wauseon; Roger (Laurie), Goshen, Ind.; and John (Beth), Wauseon.
Also surviving are 17 nieces and nephews; 10 great-nieces and -nephews; a dear friend, Marjorie Callahan; three aunts; and many cousins, friends, and former students.
Ralph was preceded in death by his partner, Jim Hester; his parents; his brother Joseph; a brother-in-law, Harold Lindsay; and a niece, Erin Elizabeth Nafziger.
Burial will be in Ft. Payne, Ala. A private family memorial service will be held later.
