Quilt Show A Success

Above, Verna Grant, Hudson, Mich., left, watches as Pat Hilbert, a Sauder Village volunteer, demonstrates a sewing technique during the Sauder Village annual quilt show, held April 29 through May 4 at Founder's Hall. Grant, herself a quilter, has attended every show, and often finds ideas for the quilts she makes. At right, Chris Holland, Pettisville, quilts during the show. She is one of the few who does not use a thimble. Instead, she uses her fingernails to push the needle. This year, 5,333 guests visited the quilt show, up about 2.3% from last year's attendance.- photos by David Pugh
