This year’s Pumpkin Path was the last, Jennifer Kidder, Archbold Parks & Recreation director, said last week.
Kidder has another plan for next year.
She said Pumpkin Path “had run its course.
“The first year, we had 50 to 60 businesses. This year, we had just under 30.”
That was more than 2007.
“We wanted to go out on a high note,” she said.
Kidder wants to replace it with a haunted hayride through the woods in Woodland Park.
There are trails through the woods, but they are not as extensive as originally planned.
“We’ve been working on them a little bit at a time,” she said. Work on the trails will continue on a timeavailable basis.
Right now, they aren’t wide enough to get a hay wagon through.
“We’ll figure something out,” she said.
