Procession For Kreischer To Go Through Burlington Thursday

Carrie M. Schlade, mayor of Bryan, has announced plans for a procession to return the body of Brandon Kreischer to his hometown.

Kreischer, 20, a soldier in the U.S. Army, was killed July 29 in Afghanistan while serving his country.

The procession will leave Toledo Express Airport at approximately 4:40 pm, and will travel west on US20A. It will turn onto US127 at West Unity, and follow that route into Bryan, ending at Bryan High School. Schlade said the procession will pass through Swanton, Burlington, West Unity, Pulaski, and Bryan.

Schlade said in her release, “Citizens within the villages-cities listed on the route are encouraged to stand in honor of Pfc. Kreischer as the procession passes.”

However, she asked that citizens not to stand along the sides of county roads or highways.

“This will cause unsafe conditions for the procession,” Schlade said.

Those wishing to watch the procession as it goes through Burlington may park in the parking lots of Adriel (formerly the Candy Cane Christmas Shoppe/Burlington-Elmira School).

“At no time Thursday should anyone from media or communities attempt to speak directly to the family, per their wishes,” she said.

Obituary information for Kreischer appears in the online version of this week’s Archbold Buckeye.–posted 12:45 pm Wed., 8.7.19
