Archbold police are looking into an alleged violation of a temporary protection order issued by a court, and about $2,550 in missing property.

Lorraine C. McCoy, 45, 501 West Street, called police and asked the officers to check her residence at 2:46 pm, Friday, Sept. 7.

After the check, she told officers six gold rings worth $1,800 plus a laptop computer valued at $750 were missing.

The items were believed to have been taken and the violation of the court order occurred between 11:30 am and 12:30 pm the preceding day.

In an unrelated case, William E. Cook, 42, East Gardens, told officers that at about 10 pm, Sunday, Sept. 9, he had received threatening comments via social media.

Officers spoke to the subject who allegedly made the threat, who said he would not make further contact with Cook.
