The Archbold 13- and 14- year-old Pony League team recently finished third in the Bowling Green tourney.

The Streaks defeated the Tiffin Cyclones 12-5, Bowling Green 19-6, and the Seneca Hawks 11-1.

The Ohio Titans defeated Archbold 11-9, while the Southern Michigan Timberwolves defeated Archbold 13-7.

Archbold 12, Tiffin 5

The Streaks opened the double elimination tourney with a 12-5 victory over Tiffin.

Taylor Price shut out the Cyclones in the first four innings while the Streaks scored 12 runs in their first four at-bats. The Cyclones scored five runs in their last three at-bats.

Zeb Frank led the way at the plate, going 3-3, while Tyson Dietrich went 2-4 with four runs batted in. Kolin Schilt and Dietrich also pitched.

Archbold 19, BG 13-Year-Olds 6

The Streaks jumped out to a 7-0 lead after one inning and cruised to a 19-6 victory.

Dietrich, T.J. Gerken, and Michael Walker pitched and limited the Bobcats to four hits.

Dylan Wyse led Archbold with two hits, including a homer, while Gerken, Tanner Wyse, Danny Young, and Price also had two hits. The Streaks collected 15 hits in the five-inning contest.

Archbold 11, Seneca Hawks 1

The Streaks used a four-run first to jump out to an early lead and cruised to another five-inning victory.

Price, T. Wyse, and Schilt pitched and combined on a four-hitter.

The Streak offense was led by Frank, who went 3-3 with two doubles. Gerken, T. Wyse, Zac Driver, and Schilt all had two hits.

The Streaks banged out 13 hits.

The victory moved them to the winner’s bracket finals against the Ohio Titans.

Ohio Titans 11, Archbold 9

The Streaks butted heads with the Ohio Titans and nearly pulled off a tremendous comeback. The score was tied at 4 after four innings before the Titans opened an 11-4 lead going into the bottom of the seventh.

T. Wyse led off with a double. Driver followed with a single. D. Wyse walked to load the bases, and Dietrich singled to make the score 11-5.

After two Streak outs were recorded, Price walked, forcing in a run.

Gerken singled to make it 11-7. Frank followed with a two-run single to close the gap to 11-9. T. Wyse walked to load the bases before the Streaks were retired on a strikeout to end the comeback bid.

T. Wyse led the way with three hits; Gerken and Frank each had two.

Southern Michigan Timberwolves 13, Archbold 7

The Streaks fell 13-7 to the Timberwolves in the loser’s bracket final.

The Streaks led 5-4 after two, but the Timberwolves scored three runs in the fourth and five in the fifth to take control. Gerken led the way at the plate, going 3-4, while T. Wyse and Driver each had two hits. D. Wyse also homered.

The Streaks’ third-place finish was their highest placement ever in the BG tourney.

T. Wyse, Gerken, and Frank were named to the 16-man All- Tourney team.

The team (17-4) also finished the summer as regular-season league champs and Defiance Tourney champs.
