Police Question Transient Oct. 8

Archbold Police officers stopped and questioned a transient who was observed walking through the village Monday, Oct. 8.

Officers caught up with the 42-year-old man walking along the Norfolk Southern railroad tracks, in the 600 block of Stryker Street, about 10:30 am.

Martin Schmidt, Archbold Police chief, said the man was deaf; they communicated with him through written notes.

Schmidt said the man produced identification, and there were no postings about him on the National Crime Information Center computer.

He left the community, walking west along St. Rt. 2.


Tom Flores was the first person to earn Super Bowl rings as a player, assistant coach and head coach. He was a backup quarterback for the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl IV, an assistant with the Oakland Raiders in Super Bowl XI and as head coach led Oakland to titles in Super Bowls XV and XVIII.
