Police Investigate Domestic Incidents

Archbold police officers investigated three domestic violence reports last week.

One woman, Gwen Maria Maley, 29, was arrested on a domestic violence charge and taken to the Corrections Center of Northwest Ohio on Saturday, Oct. 11.

Police were called to the Maley residence at 208 S. Defiance St. about 3:52 pm, where a juvenile girl alleged Maley had struck her in the face with an open hand, then punched her in the face.

The police report states Maley told officers she and the girl were arguing, when she slapped the girl with an open hand three or four times. The incident occurred about 2:45 pm.

Officers took Maley into custody and transported her to the Corrections Center of Northwest Ohio, where she was still being held Monday afternoon, Oct. 13.

Domestic violence charges are pending against a man in connection with an incident that occurred Friday, Oct. 10, between 11:30 and 11:45 pm.

Kimberly Gunther-Karcsak, 35, 302 Storrer St., reported the incident to officers, Saturday, Oct. 11, at 10:39 am.

Martin Schmidt, Archbold Police chief, said the man, who shares the residence with Gunther Karcsak, allegedly struck her during an argument. The incident occurred at the residence.

Police were dispatched to a home in the 400 block of Walnut St. about 7:08 pm, Sunday, Oct. 5, where two teenage girls were involved in a fight.

The police report states it appeared as though each had struck the other, as each had marks on their bodies.

Since officers could not determine which of the girls was the primary aggressor, no arrests were made.

The report states the girls’ mother arrived at the residence, and said she would deal with the problem.
