Police Give Man Ride Out Of Town June 8

Archbold police gave a man a lift out of town after receiving a report of a suspicious person, Friday, June 8.

The report states officers were called to the Archbold Main Stop about 12:47 pm for a report of a suspicious person on the west side of the building.

The man told police he was walking to Sherwood to get his car, which had broken down. He said he was given a ride to Archbold to get something to eat and drink.

He had plastic grocery bags; one contained electric wires and electric hair clippers, and an old pizza was in the other.

He told officers he was from Mississippi, and had no identification. Police checked records based on his name and date of birth, but no information was available.

Police were told the man had been in Wauseon earlier in the day, and was dropped off at St. Rt. 66 and St. Rt. 34. He had been given a map to Sherwood.

APD transported the man to the intersection of St. Rt. 6 and Co. Rd. 24, and was told to travel west to St. Rt. 127.
