What started as a traffic stop for speeding turned out to be something more, Saturday evening, July 17.
The Archbold police report states an officer stopped a sport-utility vehicle for speeding in the 500 block of Lafayette St. about 6:35 pm.
“After making contact with the driver, I smelled the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle.
“A search of the vehicle revealed contraband that was seized as evidence,” the officer wrote.
Among the items seized were a “green vegetative substance” that could be marijuana, and a headphone case containing multiple “vapes,” or devices designed to vaporize a liquid which is then inhaled.
There were also alcoholic beverages, including vodka, in the vehicle.
The report states a juvenile was arrested in connection with the case, but provided no further details.
The report notes, “this case will be sent to the juvenile prosecutor for charges.”
