Police Clarify Report On Possible Meth Lab At Lincoln Street Home

The Archbold Police Department has released further clarification in connection with the Friday, July 5 discovery of a possible methamphetamine lab at 408 South Lincoln Street.

Martin Schmidt, police chief, said Jennifer L. Jones, 37, who rents the home, was out of town when the report was filed.

Schmidt said another individual, whom he declined to identify, arrived at the residence about 3 am that day, and noticed the chemical smell.

More than 12 hours later, at 4:33 pm, Jones phoned police from outside the village to report the discovery.

An officer went to the scene of the residence and spoke to the unidentified individual.

That individual led the officer to the basement, where the remnants of the lab were discovered.

The case is still under investigation.
