Archbold police came to the aid of a man driving through the village about 11:34 am, Thursday, July 5.
Police were originally alerted to a possibly impaired driver driving an orange pickup.
An officer located the vehicle on Stryker Street and conducted a traffic stop.
The driver was a 70-yearold man who was on his way from Pennsylvania to Evansville, Ind.
Officers had the man park the pickup, and he and his dog were taken to a local motel. He contacted family members, and arrangements were made to pick him up.
No charges have been filed.
