Police Advise Man Of Leash Law

An Archbold police officer advised a man of the village leash law, after the man’s dog ran in front of an Archbold police cruiser toward a village worker on Friday, Aug. 6.

The APD report states the officer was driving east in the 200 block of East Holland Street about 8:15 am, when a large tan dog ran off the porch of a home and crossed the street.

The officer reported having to brake to avoid hitting the animal.

The dog ran up to a Village of Archbold employee, and began to bark at the worker.

The dog’s owner recalled the dog and the dog obeyed, but the officer advised the owner of the village leash law, saying the dog must be on a leash whenever it is off the owner’s property.
