Archbold police recovered a pickup truck that was taken from Henry County during the early morning hours of Tuesday, Jan. 10.

The police report states officers were first notified of the situation about 1:10 am, when they were advised a resident of DeGroff Ave. was awakened by a person seeking help with a disabled vehicle.

When officers arrived, they discovered a blue pickup, stopped in the 700 block of West Holland Street.

A male got out of the driver side of the truck, and told officers the person who was driving the vehicle had left the scene, and he did not know the driver’s name.

After officers questioned the person for some time, he said the driver’s name was “JT,” and did not know the driver’s last name.

Police made contact with the vehicle’s owner, who said no one should be driving the truck, but an unidentified person sometimes takes the vehicle without permission.

The owner told officers he would contact the Henry County Sheriff Department to file a report.

Archbold police had the truck towed.
