PHS Wins First-Ever Stryker Golf Invite Title

The Pettisville boys golf team improved to 60-8, 4-0 in the Buckeye Border Conference after defeating Edon and winning the Stryker Invitational last week.

PHS 165, Edon 238

The Birds remain undefeated in Buckeye Border Conference play with a 165-238 BBC win over Edon, Thursday, Sept. 5, at Wauseon.

Caleb Nafziger was match medalist, shooting a low score of 39.

Stryker Invitational

The Birds won their firstever Stryker Invitational, Saturday, Sept. 7, edging out second-place Fayette by one stroke and third-place Wauseon by two strokes.

PHS won with a team score of 329. Fayette finished with 330, and Wauseon had 331 in the 12-team tournament.

Tinora’s Dylan VonDeylen was match medalist, shooting a 66.

Leppelmeier and Stryker’s Spencer Clingaman tied for second with 73s. By finishing in the top five, they were named to the All-Tournament Team.
