PHS Volleyball Splits Week

The Pettisville volleyball team had an even 2-2 record after a loss to Wauseon and win over Ayersville last week.

The Indians won in four games, 25-23, 26-24, 12-25, 25- 11, Monday, Aug. 25.

The Birds travelled to Ayersville, Thursday, Aug. 28 and came home with a five-game victory. Pettisville lost the first two, 16-25, 17-25, before winning the next three, 25-19, 25- 18, 15-9.

Five serving, 17 serve reception, and 19 attack errors helped doom the Birds.

Haley Nofziger was 19/19 in serving, had seven kills and one solo block. Chelsea Schmucker had 13 digs and nine kills. Stephanie Yoder had two solo blocks and six kills.

Tessa Yoder was 12/13 in serving and 26/30 in setting. Karina Rohrer-Meck was 13/14 in serving and 56/61 in setting, and had four kills. Katie Weber had eight kills.

The Birds were 86/94 in serving and had 33 digs in the fivegame match.

Weber led the team in kills, with 13, and had eight digs. Nofziger had five solo blocks, three digs, and nine kills.

Schmucker had eight kills and six digs. Lauren Bontrager had nine digs and was 16/17 in serving.

S. Yoder had five kills and two solo blocks. Rohrer-Meck was 76/78 in setting.
