The Pettisville softball team started the 2019 season 0-2, 0-2 in the Buckeye Border Conference with two losses to Montpelier.

Montpelier 12, PHS 0

The Locos recorded a 12- 0 no-hit shutout in 4 1/2 innings, Tuesday, March 25, at Montpelier.

Mackenzie Morgan recorded the loss. In three innings she allowed 10 runs on 13 hits, struck out three, and walked one.

Sarah Higbie threw the no-hitter for MHS.

Montpelier 27, PHS 1

Leading 8-0 after two, Montpelier scored 13 runs in the third inning on its way to a 27-1 five-inning win at Pettisville, Thursday, March 28.

Morgan was the hard-luck loser. In two innings she allowed 10 runs on 10 hits, struck out none, and walked two.

Higbie was again the winning pitcher for MHS.

At the plate, Morgan hit a home run while Starr Kessinger had a single.

The Locos (2-1, 2-0 BBC) had 25 hits in the contest.
